Can you recommend a focusable flashlight?

I'm new here and I'm looking for some advice. First off I own 4 Mag-lites a few 5mm led flashlights and a no name 1 watt CR123a pocket light. None of them cut it. What I want is a focusable led flashlight for <$90. For batteries I prefer CR123as, 18650s, or good ol' AA (NiMH). I hate to say it but I'm leaning towards a Coast LedLenser P14. I also considered the Fenix E20 but I'd prefer more output. Can anyone talk me out of buying a Coast?
One more thing. At DealExtreme theres a LumaPower MRV that says "with focus ring" In the specs, "The flashlight also features a focus ring making the beam pattern easily adjustable" This isn't mentioned on their homepage or in reviews. Anyone know what the deal is?
Thanks

I like the Tiablo A9 due to its ability to focus from a narrow hotspot to a wide spot by rotating the head/reflector. The A9 is fully regulated on 2xRCR123a & partly regulated on 1x18650.

I dont know much about the MRV's but I have 3 A9's. Each have been modified, one has a red Cree led fitted & driven by a Dereelight DBS circuit, another has an R2 emitter. They're easy to modify

cheers.

If you really want a wide focusing range, I think you'd be happy with the P14... it goes from a really tight, far throwing spot to super-even flood. As mentioned above, Coast doesn't recommend NiMH rechargeables, but I've been using them for quite awhile with no ill effects.

I can't speak for the p14 as I don't own one but I've heard many good things about it. I do own a fenix e20 and I like it alot.

If you want a light that focuses and has a good beam in both floody and spot mode, avoid all reflector lights because they will have major artifacts in the beam when not at full focus (like a darker hole in the center of the beam in flood mode). You best choice might be Coast/LedLenser, but they don't recommend rechargeables and you already know the decieving runtime ratings.

A diffuser might work too, but that means one more thing for you to carry.
