CR123-sized 1.2v NiMh cells?

I have the shiningbeam RC-N3 II Q5 light, and I really liked the fact that it can go from 2xAA to a smaller 1xCR123 format...even though I don't have any CR123s...(although I realize now that I might've liked the MF DA1 since it uses 1AA from the start, but that'll just have to wait)

Does anyone know of something that is a short/wide (diameter) as a CR123 cell, but is 1.2v? I don't want to have to get a new charger since I already have a NiMh charger that would work (with some wiring and an adapter), and I've seen it at 1.2v and I don't mind it being dim (if I wanted it brighter I'd go with the 2AA format).

So far the only thing I've found are some old NiCds from a phone and N-cells, but I was hoping there was some other kind of cell (without going into custom orders).

1.2v from a single battery should not be enough to power the flashlight - I'm surprised that it works at that low of a voltage.

It does work, since the RC-N3 is supposedly rated 1.3 - 4 v, and when most of my cells are charged, they end up at 1.5 v anyways. It is very dim, but I don't mind; if I wanted it brighter I'd use 2AA.

Anyways, the first link to some 2/3 A cells said that they were out of stock, so I went over to batteryspace.com (Powerizer) where I got my AA cells...

Apparently, 2/3 A cells measure 17mm x 28mm. I know that a CR123 cell is 16 mm, and the ID of the RC-N3's battery tube is 17mm (no caliper, though. I measured with a scanner and SketchUp)so CR123s would fit nicely. Size issue for the 2/3 As? Otherwise, I'd have to go with the 2/3 AAs

Unprotected 17mm cells fit in almost all CR123 lights; I'd be real surprised if it didn't fit.

I think what you might be looking for is a 2/3AF cell instead of just a 2/3A....

They tend to be more like 17mm diameter x ~28-30mm, problem is they *might* be even too thick to fit in there if your tube is right at 17mm diameter...

Worth a look through.

You'll find that there are some 2/3A labeled cells out there that are actually closer to the AF standard in size, and vice versa. varies by manufacture.
