CR2 Runtime test, w/Eiger AAA and Lighthound fauxton.

Back again! 53hrs. in, the Titan and tasklight still going strong. MiNi died about 9am this morning, 2.15v on my meter. This was the second running for the MiNi, first was 25hrs. and this time was 24.5hrs. I had my hopes up for round two, but not so much... Still a nice run, but not close to rated time. Both with NIB 4Sevens cells... Who knows. 14 1/2hrs. into the "same pack" AAA run, Arc AAA-P looking weak, EO1 not at it's best but Matty and Eiger ok. Tasklight with Mini-Flupic has suprised me, I figured with the MiNi dropping out, that the Tasklight wouldn't hang too long. So far so good! Thanks for following along. Back soon!:)

I'm really disappointed by the Mini... This light was advertised with a runtime (on low) of 3,8 days... we are very far from that. Almost 75% less runtime than advertised...:(

I really hope that David (4sevens) can explain a little bit about this...:confused:

A different David will chime in and say I measured current draw on the MiNi Cr2 at 33.4mA on low with a 4-7 battery that measures 60% on a ZTS. Claimed battery capacity is 900mAh.

Mathematical runtime would be 27 hrs. Current draws are higher at the start, and may go up or down towards the end depending on the regulator, but for a fully regulated runtime that 27hr should be in the ballpark. To get 3.8 day runtime the battery would have to be a lot bigger or it would have to unregulated and drawing much less current further into the runtime.

Cavedave- Thanks for the measurements... Back again! Almost 5hrs. later. Not quite 58hrs. for the Titan and Tasklight, 19 1/2hrs. for the AAA foursome. Matty is the brightest of the group, followed by the Eiger, EO1, and the Arc. Time for some popcorn...:popcorn:

The paperwork that came with my Warm CR2 MiNi and it says the runtime is 1.2 days on low. The website still says 3.8 hrs so I guess that was a misprint.

Morning all! Picture from 6:30 this morning, about an hour ago. Arc sooooo close, but still brighter than the Titan... Everyone else right around where they were... Any more popcorn and I may need a diet.:) 71 1/2 hrs for Titan and Tasklight, 34hrs. for the AAA's. Titan just getting warmed up? More to come.

Thanks Cave Dave for these mathematics... I knew there was some exaggeration when I first saw ''3,8 days'' knowing it was not a moon mode.

So finally, for the CR2 format, the runtime king is still the Aeon (not the ION...) with his proven 40 hours (and even more on moon mode after these 40 hours...). Let's also mention that this low level is brighter than Mini's one...

It would really be interesting if this test could also include an Aeon...

6 1/2hrs. later, not much new. I thought the Arc would have been done by now, based on looking at it this morning, but it keeps hanging in there. 78hrs. for the Titan and Tasklight, 40 1/2 for the AAA's. I would love to run the Aeon vs. my Ion, all I need is an Aeon.:) Maybe someone else has both? Off to move more rocks for Mrs. Scout. Back to real world work tomorrow, ugh.

5PM, The Titan Is Dead!!! Should be a movie title... It was still running 1/2hr. ago when I came in to do dishes, now not so much... 2.41v. I tried a new cell and it fired right up. 4hrs. since last check, 82hrs. total on low. All others still going...:party::tired:

At 9PM, Arc as dim as Titan... I'm calling that one done, but I want to let it run until morning, to see if it shuts off or keeps dimming. Matty still the brightest, EO1 right behind, Eiger starting to look a bit greenish/ brown, kind of noticeable in lsat picture. Tasklight still plugging along.:tired: See ya in the AM.

Sorry CaNo, these pics from 5:30am today. 92 1/2hrs. for the Tasklight, 56 1/2 for the AAA's, Arc is almost done glowing as you can see. I called it done at 9PM last night,but it still glows... can't wait for a voltage when done. EO1 and Matty keep going, Eiger still there, but not by much.
