Hey there,

I just got a note that Cree is shipping the MC-E LED to it's distrubutors. They are released in small batches and as far as I know the K-bin (93 to 107 lumen per die at 350 mA, which is comparable to Q3/Q4 bin XR-E's) is available in cold white, I currently don't have any other info on other available bins. Retailers should start shipping them in a few days :) I am not selling any of these, just informing you fellow CPF'ers...

Cheers
Raf

Ya you beat me to this by just a few minutes.

Right Now DigiKey has these for sale. $30 each for the WK Color, 10,000k.

Price is High, but hopefully they will come down. I use these LED's in automotive applications and people Love having the cooler white colors :)

Post #45:
Both P7 and MC-E can be driven to full spec. by a single R123 ( shown 3Ps with D26 P7 and MC-E module driven by a LiMN 3.7V R123 ):

mds82 : I have been trying different reflector sizes from 20mm to 50mm and couldn't completely get rid of the donut hole. Sitting the emitter higher or lower won't help either.

I think we need new reflectors/optics.
There are at least 2 manufacturers offering optics for the MCE.
