Cree Optic Lens $2.50 shipped ww

must be "tight" when tuned correctally , cause he says it will display the emitter pattern and be somewhat square.
looks like a decent one for spot.

yes! im in for 4! anyone used these yet? and do they have side-spill or just spot?

Hmmmm. 4 Cree quad mag with these? Could be a new thrower quad? Hmmmm.

They are smaller than 20mm IMS so it would fit 4 in a mag...

they appear to be the same width as a cree/seoul star so i bet they would fit in all sorts of multi led lights.

they didnt mention the beam angle in the description, anyone know?

There is no holder on the pictures... so does that mean you have to put it directly on the top of the LED? What sort of glue should then be used?

does anyone have any experience with these optics?
if these are the "normal" Cree 8 degree optics, I have experience.
They are cheap if one wants to save some money, have a beam similar (but less intense) than McR-XR reflectors but offer no good spill.

but they're much less expensive than McRs and thus perfect for f.e. a multiemitter town bike light, for a perfect "my best" mod they suck (if these are the "original" ones, as typed. The ones with that white holder. Look very similar to them)

Updated info from KaiDomain -

- Confirmed! This is original CREE reflector, manufacturered and distributed from CREE
- Now comes with lens holder!

UPDATE: Now it comes with optical lens holder. The holder fits and lock securely with the CREE board that the emittor is sitting on. I did not put the optical lens all the way into the cup holder, as I afraid I am not able to take it out. The lens sit flush with the cup holder when installed.

I'm not even sure if or how I can use these, but naturally I ordered a couple of them anyway.... :p This would probably be really good for a simple made-from-scratch light, custom made optics for the Cree so that you can concentrate on the other aspects of designing the light.

I am tempted to get 3 of these optics together with 3 of the Cree stars and a tr-sink from Litemania for a Mag3C direct drive. Does anyone know if the Cree stars are the same dimensions as the Seoul stars (since Litemania's tri-sink is actually designed for the Seoul)?

That's a good idea to use these for a setup of 3 since the optics are compact. Regarding the star dimensions, I'm just guessing but I'd be suprised if they were any different (the stars themselves). It seems to be a fairly 'universal' dimension, being identical to other common stars such as Luxeon and even generic Chinese LEDs used in many lights.

If you decide to pursue this idea further, give us a heads up in this thread - my modding is very limited but I think that the compact size of these optics makes them a great option for a multiple Cree/SSC light.

8 deg. and 46X at 1m - it certainly looks like all spot and no spill. Kinda reminds me of the old KL3 optics for the SF.

Hmmm, I'm thinking affordable pocket throwers, in 20-25mm diameter donor torches.

Gotta laugh - "10 pieces buck purchase deal".
