From now on, another service/option available ($10) will be to modify the stock "D" switch to allow to work with flat cells, as shown here:
I can also do the other side (included in the $10) if you are using it for an LED mod and don't need the bulb pedestal:

One these new Camo bodies, and on all future custom 1xD's that I will offer, I will now offer the optional internal boring to fit a 4xAA battery holder, such as this one:

Again, this will be optional. Charge for this will be a flat $20 on top of the price of the body.

I recently worked on a project for a fellow CPF member in which he wanted several custom 1D's made. Besides his 4 units (2x Copper and 2x Green), I made two extra Silver 1D's as well:
Here is how they look like size-wise. Note the new 1D's I made are a little bit longer than the HAIII 1D so that you can fit the newer D-size LiIon cells (body length is approx. 158mm):
