Besides the bulb type, does anybody know if their is a difference between the standard and led models?

I bought alot modd parts for the mag but im concerned that if i buy the led model, the parts dont fit.
I prefer to buy the led version just because i like to use the led as backup in the tail cap.

Marduke, please take my apologies,
... thought I saw a double "m" in the title
and You are absolutely correct that there is no difference at all for a D or C celled Maglite!
damn, know I should not speed read.

PS:
How is the standing on the inserts?
Are the original Mag ones better than some aftermarket parts?

man! Why do You answer when You obviously have no clue on the topic?

the led model (which I hate, I have to admit) is considerably longer, the reflector is longer, the end cap is longer, the whole body is longer, the Pill is totally different, ..., there is pretty much nothing that can be swapped between the models.
Maybe the front glass is identical.

better to skip the whole bad "Mag-Led" part, get that led that is just "out-with-that-poor-output-and-short-burntime-till :poof: bulb and-put-the-replacement-led-in. Drill the reflector hole to 5 mm. Use Lithiums instead of Alkies". Better, seems brighter, extreme runtime, nothing to go :poof:
unfortunately I have forgotten the name of that swap led

--> this works with the original MM

but the best would be to give the poor MMs a retirement, thats what they are best now, and get a Fenix.
OR mod it with the Lighthound two 14500 hotwire mod (and get a Fenix, too)

That is true for the MiniMag, but you are VERY incorrect for the standard Mag, which is what (I assume) the question was about.

There is absolutely no body difference between the standard Mag and the MagLED. The only difference is the bulb, which can be swapped out as easily as replacing a burnt out bulb.

The only issue with swapping parts is between old Mags and new Mags. These are the new Mags with "D" and "C" at the start of the serial, and old Mags which do not have "C" or "D" at the start of the serial number.
