Hey there, whats the best way to clean the LED's?

I have a couple of lights that aren't too old but the LED's look like they have seen it all.

Best way is to leave them alone. People have knocked the domes off the LEDs trying to mess with them.

How did they get dirty? Did dirt get in under the lens?

Maybe try air compressor...

It would help if you posted what light you are talking about, and exactly where it is dirty.

If it's something like an Arc or Fenix E01, that's easy to clean and understandably dirty. If it's something else behind glass with a high output LED, that VERY different.

+1
Sweetlight, It is best to leave alone some lights as you can misplace the dome covering the emitter very easily and that is not a good thing...

What kind of LEDs are you speaking of?

5mm ones are usually easy to clean but high power ones can be fragile.

I've never had any problem cleaning high power LED with canned air and cotton swab with ethanol. Tried on luxeon, cree, seoul, and the new k2.
