Tired of that nasty spring chewing up the cells in your Maglite?

Less than 10 minutes of work makes a perfect fix:

Material list:

1x solder joint copper endcap for 3/4" pipe.
2" of electrician's tape
3/16" section of 1" poly pipe

Cut the endcap down to 3/16" in length....2 minutes with a Dremel.
File the edge smooth...2 minutes with a mill file.
Wrap e-tape around endcap until poly pipe fits snugly.
Install poly pipe.
Pound a 'pimple' into the end of the endcap.
Set it on the spring.

Stays in place perfectly.
Doesn't interfere with spring travel.
Adds only 1.3mm to spring length.

I just use a washer if I am worried about hurting the cells, but my 2D mag has a cut down spring that doesn't put as much pressure as the stock one, so hopefully it won't cause issues.

My 2D ROP uses a short length of auto heater hose that is snug fit in the tailcap. Inside this pice of hose is another piece of rubber hose that is just a bit longer than the gap between tailcap and bottom of cells. This hose has been wrapped lengthwise thru the middle with copper braid. The result is soft, no-marring, low resistance, and easy to screw on tailcap.
