I've been fascinated by this compact flashlight but would simply like to know whether the Minis, AA in particular, crush batteries like EZ AA does? I used to own EZ AA and it put bad gash on rechargeable batteries. Sold that immediately.

my mini 123 is gentle on batts..

and is AWESOME!

stupid bright on RCRs for being so small.

I've never used an EZ AA, so can't compare directly, but the Quark MiNi AA does indeed have a spring in the tail. If I compress a standard Duracell alkaline all the way down with my finger, the button is about 4mm past the fully-screwed position of the head. Eneloops are the same size.

Standard batteries are safe. I can't vouch for any of the Li-ion cells.

It shouldn't. I have had EZ AA and didn't like it so I ended up selling it.

The minis have gentle springs in the bottom so they won't crash
batteries at all, unless you try a wrong sized ones.
