I dropped my ld10 from about chest height onto concrete. Well used for about a year but first drop. Now, light will only go into low and strobe. Anybody have this problem?

yes, this is an old thread but I (also) need to raise my post count. i've been a lurker for
some time though I've accumulated numerous lights since the dark ages. this evening, I
dropped one of my pocket carrys, a Fenix LD10 and it ceased to function. i was quite
annoyed, where under the old filament design, i would have attributed this to a broken
filament and simply replaced the bulb.

i searched the forum to see if others had encountered such a glaring weakness (mine was
2' to concrete).

after changing batteries, shaking the light, cursing and mumbling, i gave up. made dinner
and then decided to try again. hey, fully functional again, with no loss in features. all
modes restored.

weird.

Pull out the batteries, and wait a while...

While the batteries are out of the light, clean the contacts, put it together, click the tailcap, clean the contacts again.

...then put the batteries in, and try it again.

If it works again, then internal memory just got messed up, and it needed a few minutes for the
electrical charge to drain out before it could reset itself, no biggie.

IF it doesn't, I'd send fenix an email, and ask them what to try next.
