E1e mod question.

I need some help making a decision . Any help will be much appreciated. I have an e1e and was interested in the kl1 head. Then I hear about the kx1 (can't find any info on it) . Now I see the Ultrafire drop ins for the g-2,6p and others. Does anyone make a "drop in" for the e1e , maybe a Cree unit? I would be happy with at least the same output as kl1 . Looking to save some buck here if possible. Thanks, Steve

The KX1 is the 2007 Version of the KL1. It uses a Cree LED as opposed to a Luxeon in the current KL1. I have an E1L and an E2d, The KL1 from the E1L works great on the E2d.

From what i understand there is currently not a "Drop-in" (Like those for the G2,6P,Z2 etc) that comes pre-manufactured. There are however ways to make a "Module" which would require a lathe or dremel along with some soldering, An LED among other things. You should be able to find this via Searching (I'm moving right now so i can't search! Sorry!)

KL1 head is huge on the tiny E1; makes it look very top-heavy. The E1E head is much nicer.
