I was looking forward to matching it with McGizmo’s black PR head but I didn't see it at Surefire, Brightguy or LPS.

What gives?

I think that Bulldog Enterprises still has it. I think TadGear had it too.

EDIT: Surefire isn't making it any more, according to a note on TadGear's web site.

Oldgrandpajack,

Thanks for the info, depressing though it may be /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have had these on order with a few places; some have already charged my CC. I am getting informed slowly that they are not available and won't be available. I have some hope and reason to believe that this will change later next year but it will be on the famous SureFire clock. It is what it is. One on line store charged my card, a couple days later sent me an e-mail stating currently out of stock but expected ship date and then the ship date was the day before the date of the message??!?! Yeah right! Since SF is moving away from non brick and mortar stores, I suspect that I get to take the time to E-municate with these folks and hope for a CC refund. Oh goodie! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mut,

I just saw your post! I had three on order with Howard and received a call the night before last from him. He said he could only ship one of the three I had bought??!?!? WTF, over?

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
www.toolshop.de still lists them in stock, although they cost EUR119 (approx. $140) plus shipping if outside the EU.
Watch those European prices, guys! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Chris from meridian succeeded in getting me one, but it did take some time and was a few weeks ago.

You made me do it McGizmo. You made me do it you and that great PR917. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

I emailed questions on this to the SureFire customer service a few days ago. They told me that the E series lights were no longer manufactured in black and they would not do a black version of the Z57.

Hmm, I will need to find a good anodizer to get the black Z57 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Is black anodizing natural HA III a realistic possibility, amd wouldn't you have to strip it first? Perhaps it would be easier to get a satin E2E and have that anodized.

I'm gonna go at mine with a Sharpie tomorrow. Learned that trick from McGizmo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If anybody is selling black E-anything, I'm buyin'!

HA is pretty easy to strip with lye.

brightnorm, tell me when you find one!

i've got some things that really need black ha3 and can't find anyone that does it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Just saw a post in the B/S/T forum, and the E2E-BK is available at Turners Outdoorsman, in California. I don't know which store, how much or if they do mail order. I am in New York and plan on giving them all a call, when they open (10:00 AM PST). http://www.turners.com

Jack, I checked their site and didn't even see a products list. I hope that black E2E isn't HAII as some of SF's E2's were.

The black E2e i have is HA3, except for the tailcap, which is a shiny HA2. This seems to be the most common version, but at least one person that i know of has one with a black HA3 tailcap.

The tailcap of the E2e I got from Bulldog a couple of weeks ago matches the rest of the light's matte black HA III.

You can do it yourself. It's pretty easy. Red Devil Lye is available at most supermarkets. Wear gloves. Just mix a couple of spoonfuls in a little cheapo tupperware container full of water (add the lye to the water, not water to the lye). Dip your part for about 10 minutes, pull it out and wipe it off with a paper towel. It probably won't all come off that quick, but you want to get an idea for how fast it's working. Just keep dipping until it's all gone. You don't want to leave the part in too long, as the lye will pit it.

I got 2 E2e HA black and both of them has matching HA tailcap.

Alan
