If all you need is to check currency the power of a AAA flashlight may be overkill. I bought a coin cell "fauxton" UV/purple light from Battery Junction for $0.99 that lights up for close range stuff quite nicely. Search there for:
"Titanium Innovations KEYLIGHT Keychain LED Ultraviolet Light 395nm UV"
Sorry, I'm not sure if the rules allow me to provide a direct link but I'm sure you'll find it.
Interestingly this may be an economical way to buy the internal 2 x CR2016 batteries!
Note: The on off switch is not momentary so once you turn it on by squeezing it stays on even once you let go. Could be an issue for pocket carry as it might turn on accidentally in your pocket and kill the batteries.
P.S> I know I hate it when other people second guess my stated needs when I ask for a suggestion so if a AAA UV light is what you want, DX has a $3.22 one called "5-LED UV Slim Flashlight (1x AAA)" but I don't know anything about it.
The Bank of England said that no LED source is recommended as they don't give short enough wavelength light to work with the inks they are using. This may, or may not, apply in other countries
The Arc AAA UV light is a good choice for about $40. But I would personally go with the coin UV light rather than the AAA light. They are much cheaper and work just as well.
