Hi All,

I want an AAA light to carry on my keychain that looks good now, and that will look good over time. I guess the Matterhorn would be the way to go, in SS or brass? I'm a bit confused over Peak's current offerings now- I see there are options for "HP" and "UP", with the UP being the brightest, I believe?
What are the downsides of the UP option?
What about 3 LED vs. 1 LED?
Also, I have read about titanium lights, and also different bodies available, although I'm not seeing anything on the Peak website. Are there any cool options available other than what is shown?
My current carry is a Fenix cree something-or-other, but after carrying for a few months it simply looks like crap and for something that I carry as often as my keys, I want something that looks really nice (and stays that way!).

When I think of Eleant and AA or AAA I think of my TNC lights, here is link to a pic in an old thread. TNC

I don't have any personal experience but a lot of ppl say that brass is the way to go for durability. If I were looking for runtime I'd probably go with a single LED HP. Also the HP is easier on the LED.
Edit: I am talking Matterhorn here.

UP gives the highest output at the expense of LED life whereas HP gives the maximum light without over-driving the LEDs; according to Peak.

Stainless steel should last longer than brass when carried with the keys since it's much stronger and harder than brass.

Titanium seems to be available only with Caribbean and Rainier at the moment, they are SSC P4 and/or Luxeon lights, not 5mm LED's.

The stainless Matterhorn looks very nice but weighs a ton and IMO is too long for a keyring because of the screw-in post that Peak likes to put on flashlights. They made a lug-style body for it a while back and it's possible some are still available. But I think it's not as nice looking as the removable-post body, because the lug version is knurled while the post version is knurl-free. Unfortunately I find the removable post itself ugly, though that of course is subjective. My longer review of the stainless version is here:

It would be great if they made a non-knurled, titanium version with a lug body and no longitudinal etched lettering.

I had actually just recently ordered a knurled stainless Matterhorn from them (terrific customer service by the way), but then something came up and I had to turn around and cancel the next day :(
I'm totally with you on both the post version being unattractive and too long, and especially about the titanium version. What a great light that would be.

They still have SS lug-style bodies? Maybe I should call them. I resisted buying one because I didn't like the knurling and engraving, but I'm really not keen on the screw-in keychain post on the other version, so I should try to get a lug body before they dry up, if they haven't already.
