Hi all,

I have EverLED installed on 2C and 3D cell Maglites.

But, I have even bigger Maglites (4C up to 6D). I want to know how much more runtime one can expect with the larger battery count. Has anyone here done runtime graphs on 4+ cell Mags using EverLED? What about EverLED, do they have charts like the one below that show how the larger number of cell lights do?

The following picture is from the LED Dynamics website: http://www.leddynamics.com/EverLED/

It will last a long, long time. With 6 cells the everled will draw about 130ma, and I believe most alkaline Ds are around 18,000mah. That would mean it would last around 138 hours.

138 hours of the regulated output (i.e. before it drops noticably)? That would be a good camping light setup, since it emits 20+ lumens during this 138 hours?

Yes, there should be no noticeable change in the brightness, because that doesn't happen until you get below 3 volts. With a 6 cell light, each battery would be down to .5v at that point, meaning they're pretty much completely dead.

Wow, very impressive the flat runtime is. I'm going to get more EverLEDs and put them in my larger Maglites. So far, with my 2C and 3D, I haven't gone through the batteries yet, so even the lower battery counts are somewhat impressive with the EverLED.

I thought the EverLED works with any cell configuration? I have one currently in my 3D Mag. Click on the link 357 provided in the initial post for a list of online shops (bottom of the page).

Doesn't the Everled have a 9v limit? You'd be pushing your luck with a six-cell Mag.

I have one in a 2D Mag. I did a kinda-sorta run time test out of curiosity; after 24 hours, there was still usable light.

They work great with six cells! I've had one of the very early ones in a 6XC cell mag for about two years and it's been as reliable as it could be.

From what I can tell, EverLEDs have circuitry that will work for 2D up to 6D cells (2C to 6C also).

Anyone know how the Everled compares to the Diamond
in a 3D Mag? Ever seems easier to find, but I'm not
sure the hourglass led design is as good w/ refelctor
as the Diamond's (lambertian) round head. At least
I've found that the TerraLux TL5E, which has the
hourglass in a MM is not nearly as focusable as the round-headed MJled even though the former is slightly birghter and regulated.

Thanks
MB
