Greetings!
Last saturday my brandnew ASP Triad LED arrived.
I filled in the CR123 cells but the light didn't go on. So I unscrewed the head from the battery tube and the driver fell out of the head.
The little circuit board is soldered on a small plastic module, which is plugged on some contacts in the head. The solder joints on the circuit board were broken and the small plastic module is broken, too.
This must be a case of warranty, so I wrote a mail to ASP customer service at the weekend.
But until now I haven't received an answer from them.
Is this normal? Has anybody here at cpf made some experiences with ASP customer service? What is an average reaction time in such cases?

I hope, you can understand, what I am trying to say :)

Thanks and best regards
Michael

wow, what a shame.
I was also looking into the purchase of the ASP Triad LED. Since it is such a new product it seems that there are issues on quality control the factory should work out.
Keep us updated.

Re: Experiences with ASP customer service?

Generally, the Triad Led is a nice flashlight. Small, fits great in my hand, the spongy battery tube has a safe and comfortable grip. Quiet and exact switch mechanism, a solid and well built piece of metal.
The led's are well centered in the reflectors, the circuit board is clean and clear.
One thing I mentioned is, that the threads weren't lubed. They were dry as a desert and it squeaked as I unscrewed the head or the switch from the tube.
In my opinion, this damage can't be a result of bad behaviour during the shipping. The driver exactly fits into the head, so there is no movement of this board. It must have happened during manufacturing.

First step is to get an answer from ASP.
I will keep you updated.

Hello Michael:)

I'm sad to hear this dilemma:awman:.
Hmmm, and I thought this light would be worth to recommend.:naughty:
Hopefully you'll get a response soon and they will take care of the problem.
Good luck and best regards

Re: Experiences with ASP customer service?

did u get the light from a reputable dealer?

for the most part it seems they are being sold on Ebay.

Re: Experiences with ASP customer service?

The Triad Led is from National Police Supply. Because they don't ship international, I used Unforgiven's great forwarding service. The package from him was so safe, that you could throw it through the room without damaging the flashlight in it.
I sent the second mail to ASP...
If there is no answer, I will try something else.

I'm assuming you're e-mailing them at [email protected] ??

That's too bad that it's not working out for you...keep us posted as this looks like a really nice light, but bad CS could change a lot of people's minds on it.

Hello everyone!
Right, this is the mail-adress, I used.
Here's an update:
I received a mail from Kathy Bruns from ASP. They will take care of this problem at no charge. :goodjob:
I'm glad to read this! Sound like the ASP customer service can keep up with the services of other premier flashlight manufacturers.

I will keep you updated!

Thank you
Michael

Re: Experiences with ASP customer service?

Greetings!

The ASP Triad, which I sent to ASP, finally arrived here in Germany.
ASP fixed it at no charge, there were no problems with the customs authorities.

Great job from ASP customer service! :twothumbs
Uncomplicated email-contact, obliging, professional. I personally can recommend ASP!

Now, this little beauty makes some light ;)
For know, just a few thougts:

A comparison on a white wall in about 1 meter distance shows, that the triad is brighter than Lumapower M1 and about equal to the Gladius P4. Gladius and M1 have a sharp hotspot, the ASP has a mixture between spot and flood.
The tint is very white and cool, more blue than yellow (hardly to notice).

A review and beamshots will follow as soon as possible (it is exam-time here at our police training center, so we have plenty to do)...
