Fake E1e?

I used to collect Surefire lights but sold them all a few years ago. Recently I realized I have no incandescent lights and now I'm back on CPF and the auction sites.

I received this E1e recently and it just seems off to me. I don't have much experience with the gunmetal finished lights or early E series stuff. What do you all think?

I have one just like that. I put a Lumens Factory bulb module in it and enjoy using it on special occasions.

A lot of the old ones had the "SURE - FIRE" on the tailcap. It looks totally legit to me. I don't know of anyone who is faking E-series lights. It's a bit complicated to fake those. And place like Lumens Factory make good quality E-series replacement parts. I just see the fake Nitrolon G2's on ebay for a few years now. I've never seen one in person and don't plan to, so I don't know what their quality is like.

There were a bunch of fake Z48's floating around awhile back. If you didn't look at them close it can be hard to tell. They fooled me at first, but I didn't look at the one I had very close otherwise I probably would have noticed. I imagine they wouldn't be able to take the same juice flowing through them as a real deal Z48 either, the clicky mechanism looked a bit sketchy, but the spring was a decent gauge.

I ordered a generic overseas 3P body and Z41 tailcap around a year ago and was surprised the tailcap had SF branding on it (it wasn't the exact wording a genuine factory example would have had though). I'm thinking they mistakenly pulled and shipped stock from their airsoft/counterfeit inventory (if that's what they do on the side)!

The Surefire is not hyphenated, which is probably a later variation.
