I haven't been in the market for years but some guy at a hotel was broke and offered me this flashlight for 10 bucks new in the box. I threw it in the truck and kind of laughed at it as I'm a zebra man when it comes to headlamps and have several Fenix as a back up. Still I was excited when I found out it would run on AAA because as a prepper, every other flashlight has another means of power in it but I didn't happen to have a AAA one so now I have all bases covered. However the point of this is the say to anyone who wants to listen this flashlight is just absolutely amazing and blew me away!!!
What blew me away was how long this thing will run on a single charge. It's not the brightest however it is more than bright enough for any project you are doing inside or outside. It has four settings and I kept it at number three. I can walk outside at dusk and it will literally last me till sunrise without any issues whatsoever. That's with the occasional number four spot for a couple minutes to highlight something I'm looking for. I don't know how long it will run on 4 but I can tell you that 3 handles 95% of all projects and I am a man that only wants bright and white and as bright as possible.
I don't have any headlamp or flashlight for that matter that will last me the entire night at the next to brightest setting. Don't know how it will do with alkaline but all I can say is I'm just amazed I truly am!
