what would the benefit be in running one of these batteries, longer run obviously, but any increased brightness?

i'm not sure becoz i don't own the D mini.

The D-Mini was brighter and had an almost regulated output when using a 4.2v RCR123, so the 18650 body should provide that extra brightness and regulated-like output, but for a much much longer runtime. A 2600mAh 18650 contains about 4x as much energy as an RCR123.

That sounds sweet and I would order one immediately and a p2dce whilst at it but, i'm a little dissapointed in fenix-store atm, they said they would post a replacement p3d at the same time as i'd send my faulty unit back, so i didnt have to wait and also said my replacement could be a refurb. :shrug:

looks like a worthy mod for the D-Miniature :shakehead

how nice if they can make the clicky body for the P1D CE.
however david already emailed me stated that fenix won't be producing such products.The one that leef produce for the P1D CE is almost the same price as 1 P2D CE plus shipping but the quality is superb.

Thanks everyone for the info, just ordered tube AW18650 and charger form Fenix (who woulda thunk) Seems like a nice place to do business with, although I wish they would offer ups shipping and not just usps. Look forward to a 3 hour D-mini, especially when Lumapower releases a tactical switch for it.
