The idea seems simple enough, we all have these lights, so when we want to have a hands free kind of light, instead of buying something like the Stanley Tripod light, why not have a stand for what we already have. I've searched like crazy all over the net and could only find this http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=62640&cat=1,43456,43349 That's pretty much exactly the idea I have in mind, but maybe the base could be removed for either a clamp, magnet or a regular stand and maybe a flexneck. I cannot find that Lee Valley holder anywhere, so I'm pretty sure it's exclusive to them, but they charge 8 dollars to ship (I JUST missed their free shipping), but I'm sure if there's nothing else, that one could be set up somehow to freestand.

Do you guys have any ideas or suggestions? It would be mostly used for doing close up work and I'm not too big of a fan of headlamps if I'm going to be stationary.

Lol those are very interesting, but the light would need to be able to shine downward at an angle higher up than what those are capable of. Think desk lamp.

Can they really stand on one foot like that one with the orange MM?
