so I used eneloops for a few years with my Maha C9000. I got out of the game for a few years and started using alkalines for their ease of use. Well, yesterday I dusted off my C9000 and did a few cycles on some new lsd nimh batteries and plan on start using them full time, but I forgot one important thing and how to do it. When matching cells together, I always went by Silverfox's guide of "Striving for 5%, but living with 10%" when it came to capacity spread. The two I just did a few cycles on reported 2048 mah and 2071 mah capacity on the other. I'm wanting to know the percent spread on these numbers, but I forgot the formula on how to do it. I tried doing a search but it came up empty. Thanks in advance

The way that I would calculate it is:

(Spread) / (average capacity) x 100 = %

Spread = highest - lowest number or (2071 - 2048) =

Average = (add them all together) / number of cells or (2071 + 2048) / 2 =

I just divide the bigger number by the smaller number.

In this case that's 1.0112, so they are within 1.12% of each other.

I'd just not bother at all. Unless you are going to be using a stop watch each time you activate your torch, you'll never be able to tell any difference.
