For my E2E. I put in 2 brand new Energizer batteries. When I turned it on I was very dissapointed! The beam was egg shaped and seemed no brighter than the stock bulb! Everything went together fine but what a bummer! Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Defective bulb or to high an expectation...i dunno! Thanks for any replies.

The 150 lumens Lumens factory E-series lamp assembly (EO-E2R) is supposed to be used with two RCR123 rechargeables, not two standard CR123 primaries. Two rechargeable RCR123 have a higher voltage than two primary CR123.

soft feel is right on the money. The Lumens Factory bulb will run on primary batteries but were designed for rcr123's. I think you will be happy when you feed the bulb more juice. I am using several E series lights now thanks to Lumens Factory breathing new life into an old friend.

Lightdude, if you still have problems after using difference cells, let LumensFactory know and they'll help you out.

Very cool! I needed a reason to get rechargables anyway:D. But the beam pattern would still be the same, correct? Original circle vs egg LF. Just curious.

With more than double the lumen output, I would think the beam shape would be of negligible concern... :) By the way, where is a good place to get the Lumens Factory Lamp Assemblies? I have a few Surefire incans I want to upgrade.

pts or lumens factory themselves; lighthound might carry them. With US dealers, you save a few days' shipping time; with LF, you get a penlight (or used to, haven't bought lately :broke: ).

I got my bulb in about 10 days, but no penlight:(. Your're right, when I get the rechargables if it is very bright i really won't care about beam shape:D

Here is the secret formula

E2E + LumensFactory bulb + RCR123 rechargeables = :D

Yes, and it's a very noticeable difference. I can't imagine that you'll still be disappointed after seeing this lamp assembly with the correct voltage Lightdude. With E series head, my FB2 bodied light has become one of my favorite guilt free lumen, small flashlights.

There are a few kinds of rechargeable lithium ion batteries. The ones you are looking for are the 3.6 volt R123/RCR123 (same thing) type.

Rechargeable lithium ion batteries can be very dangerous - they can explode and burn, releasing toxic chemicals.

I would avoid the temptation to buy cheap batteries and instead buy the cells and charger from AW here: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=125353

His batteries are high quality, deliver close to the promised capacity, have protection circuits and a number of other safety features which make 'venting' much less likely.

the penlight is free with orders over $30

if you want round output get a LED (round emitter) ;)
- it's kinda tough to get round out of a (rectangular) filament bulb... though the SF bulbs for more money and less output do it quite well.

you can try frosting the top of the bulb, and/or raising or lowering the bulb in the reflector via washers to help focus it better too?

the LF bulb I received produces a nice circular pattern - but I was probably lucky. and I do like it enough to order a couple more as spares.

E2d + AW CR123a's + LF EO-E2R = :twothumbs:

Mike from LF says you can use the primaries in the 150 lumen LF assembly in a pinch but the LF EO-E2r really shines with the 3.7v CR123a's it's my EDC light.
