So awesome to hear that peoples HCRI's are starting to arrive!!!

Deicide, can I ask you what was the date that you placed your order?

I ordered mine on January 5th...

I ordered mine on march 31st through a dealer. One of my favorite lights by far...

It seems that the reflector opening is larger than my 200 rotary. It also seems the LED is sitting about 1mm further down in the reflector, in comparison to the rotary.

The beam is definitely smoother, with artifacts to a minimum.

I looked at my lights and the opening on the new HDRI one does indeed look larger than the older CW one. It doesn't appear to be sitting any further down on mine though. I wonder if the opening being wider is all that was needed?

March 31st of 2011 or 2012? if 2012, could you PM me which dealer it is? :naughty:
You missed it entirely. They were offered for only a short while before they are all gone. Anyway, Henry told me that mine is still not done for shipment and I ordered on January 2nd.

Received a Hi-CRI Clicky today (also bought from a dealer). Comparing it to the Malkoff M61HCRI, it is about equal in brightness at a slightly higher CCT (I'm far from able to be precise, but it seems to be ~500K cooler). I'm very pleased with it, exactly the sort of build quality I've come to expect from HDS.

I'll certainly pick up a Rotary Hi-CRI if I get a chance.

Any word on the Rotaru clips, last time I heard anything he said two months...
I don't know how long ago that was, maybe 3 weeks ago?

A wider hole is the exact opposite solution I would have expected as I would have assumed it would make the artifacts worse.

All I know is that the high CRI beam looks great.

All I know is, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one, ehy! ...

We're in agreement once again my friend:thumbsup:

Yeah Davyro, absolutely! But, but, ... ... with all you guys wanting the  whatever warm tinted lights. How come there isn't (not that I can afford it right now) any regular Rotarys in-stock anywhere? That's what I wanna know!

While you guys try an figure that one out, .... I'm going back to looking at SeiyaJapan.com's Casio G Shock Solar/Atomic Frogman porn! ... :naughty:

It may seem a little obvious, but it's got to do with them being in short supply and many people wanting them.

I know, I was just trying to break up some of the tension from the guys waiting for their lights! ... LOL

The funny thing is the contrast between expectation and realization. Once you get your light, you will Never again experience the expectation of getting that particular light, ever again... unless you lose it somewhere and know it will turn up somehow anyways.

Personally I just want to be able to use the thing, I'm definitely working to keep the sense of expectation way, way, down until it arrives (I might even put off opening it for a little bit), and then to start using it.

Hehe they were 3 actually, I picked up the first one. This was the best deal in 2 month to get an hds without waiting :)

Have you received any notifications from goinggear yet as far as shipping?
I haven't head a peep from them as of yet.

That's one good thing about doing business with GG is you can call them (anytime the store is open) if you have any questions.

I am looking to get my first HDS and had a few concerns I wondered if ya'll could help me with to save my eyes from this monster thread in just 4-5 months. lol...

Are the flush buttons still cracking or has he addressed that?
Will they tail stand solidly?
Are the 200l rotaries known to have poorer tint or beam quality than the 200l clickies or is it a GD vs. XP-G issue?
Just how cool do the 200l models tend to run?
What are my odds of getting an off center emitter and what is involved in getting it corrected if I do?
Are there any downsides to the rotary models like lesser runtime?
If I were to order now, what would be my approximate wait and where should I order from?

Thanks!

The 200 lumen rotary tail stands very well, the XPG is very well centered and the beam is perfect.
Tint on my 120 is more of a ghostly white with the GDP emitter. If I set them both too a 120 lumens the GDP will out throw the XPG by 10-20 feet, but with them both set to max the rotary wins. Hope that answers most of your questions ;)
