I'm thinking it might actually get to over 6 weeks. This is a AW2600 18650 being used here. The predicted run time on a 17670 is 4 weeks I think.

Thanks for doing this. Fascinating to see how efficient these lights can be.

Just in the process of ordering an EDC Tactical 120. Great to see how well the HDS lights do.

best,
Mike

According to the HDS website, the Clickys are available with 17670 tubes and the Twisties are available with a 18650 (i.e. 19670) tube. i don't think the Twisties ever came with a 17670 tube and the reason why the Clicky doesn't come in the 19670 size is because of the signal wire.

You can also use the 17670 in the 18650 Twisty tube but I prefer the 18650's since you get more run time.

There is currently no such thing as a 18650 tube for the twisty. It is called the 19670 tube, and will fit most 18650, which are usually bigger than advertised.

PS Awesome test. Thanks!

I'm surprised your mid level runtimes weren't longer.

I ran my Ra 100WW on max for 51min before it stepped down. Then I turned it off and back on for an additional 6hr 10 min at 9 lm setting. Surefire cell.

ShippingAndHandling,

You CANNOT put an 18650 battery into the R17670 battery compartment. They simply will not fit. The Twisty does not come with a R17670 battery tube - the Twisty only comes with the R19670 battery tube - which is 2mm larger in diameter on the inside.

The R19670 battery compartment will hold the R17670 battery, but it is a bit sloppy.

Henry.

Finally got the chance to post again. The 140 Twisty started flickering at 6pm GMT on Tuesday 5 October 2010. I twisted it off and on immediately and it settled at a lower level according to a comparison with my other 140 Twisty. It finally went out at about 8am GMT on Wednesday 6 October 2010. That means it ran for 4 weeks 1 day and 8 hours. That is a total of 704 hours at about 0.3 lumens. I can't see a time when I will ever need to have light that long but it is sure reassuring to have the knowledge it is there for me.

I am happy! :)
