I'm thinking about taking the plunge into LiIon batterys with a 18650-powered super high output spotlight. Since I'd have to get a charger and batteries, I'm trying to keep the light at $150 or less. I don't want a super-narrow beam, but something with enough spill to light up a decent area about, oh, a football field's length again (Or more). I have a strong preference towards neutral or warm tints.
So far I'm really looking at the Eagletac M2XC4 and Peak NP300A, though a couple of Lumapower and Jetbeam lights look really good too. Too many choices... .
The Eagletac's appealing because it can be had in a NW tint, compact size even with 2x18650, and is the only one I've played with in person, and because I like my other ET lights.
The Peak's variable output makes it appealing (Usable as a low-output general purpose light too, compared to the ET's whopping 40+ lumens on low), and their reputation here.
Runners up are Jetbeam M1X and RRT-1, Lumapower Signature Tactical VX.
Don't suppose anybody here owns both and can comment, or have a good argument for one over the other?
