Hello, It has been a year or so since I visited Candlepower. The last time I was here was for a night light for coyote hunting, red LED. After reading and not under standing much of what I read, I ended up moding a 2 C cell mag light. Now I'm looking to improve on it some more.
My mod included using a 3 watt Diamond red LED drop in. I had my gunsmith shortened the body 35mm, re-threaded the inside and trun the outside to accept 30mm scope rings. This allowed me to use 2 123 3 volt batteries. I also installed a tactical pressure switch in the tail cap. And replaced the plastic lens with glass. The 3 watt red LED and Mag head throws a good beam out about 120 yards.
I have been looking for more of the red LED drop ins, but have been unable to find them. Today I called a supplier and they had four red TLE-6EXR dropins in their back store room. I bought all four. I would like to make another light for a friend and I.
I would like more distance, a 2 Mag head or larger, and a 1 body similar to a P6 with two 123 bateries. Any sujestions?
Are there adapters to take the Mag head down to a 1 body? How can I get more throw out of the Mag head.
