Theres always threads what the best EDC lights on here is so Im gonna post the 3 best EDC lights you can buy.If there not made in the USA chances are quality isn't as good hands down. All 3 of these lights you could use for anything from Camping Walking to hard Military use and not worry about whether there gonna break or not.The SF E1B has a nice tight beam with a WH tint and is bright definitely over the 80 lumen rating build quality is as one would expect from SF and the TIR OPtic and Cree XR-E are hard to beat. The Mac's EDC is a Monster of a light and can be used for a tactical light to walking light in low or med modes runtime is sufficient in these with plenty of light from either 3 modes.Runtime on Med was 40 minutes with a AW RCR123 light only got warm which is a plus.On Low I would imagine 1.5+ hrs runtime. Last is the Ra Tactical with the Dragon+ Led build qaulity is superb and feels very hefty. The light is fully programmable and can do any task you can ask of it.The downfall with this light is the horrible pocket clip.Other then that its great. These are not cheap lights but quality always comes at a price.I recommend any of these 3 for EDC you will not be disappointed. Yes there are more expensive and quality EDC lights such as Mcgizmo and Arcmania. However I feel there price tag makes it unaffordable for most.

Surefire E1B MAC's EDC SST50 2.8A Ra LightsTactical

Re: Heres 3 of the best EDC lights out to date

Keep in mind that "best" is 100% subjective though. ;)

Uh oh! Better get your umbrellas:D; the $h!t that's about to hit the fan isn't subjective:crackup:. Oh yeah,:D

Those are some great, great looking lights and I would probably love to own them, but with the listed lumen output, minimal runtimes, and price...I am not likely to buy those lights.

The opening post includes a photo of the three best EDC lights currently available, but there must be a mistake because I don't see a Quark MiNi AA in the picture.

;)

I use to think that way, but sooner or later you will give in...I bought Mac's SST-50 and it is a great light.

Minimal runtimes the E1B 1.3hrs on 1xCr123 the RA even longer Macs EDC on Lo which is probably 250 lumens for 1.5hrs roughly. If you carry 2 batteies its better runtime then an 18650 and half the size.

E1B gets like 30 hrs on Lo setting is that not long enough???? I would imagine the RA does the same.

Yes I figured I would settle this long debate glad I could settle it:twothumbs

You had me at Hello :)

my light from Mac is due in my mailbox today. i can not wait!!!! :twothumbs

i really need to get one of henry's lights. that'll be my next purchase most likely...however, if the LX1 comes out soon, i may end up getting that one.
either way, an ra clicky or twisty will make it into my collection...eventually.

The Macs light is bright bright. You can use an RCR123 with it on hi for momentarily use but it will only pull 2.1A you need an IMR to get 2.8A

The fact that I don't see a Haiku XP-G listed as one of the three means this thread is officially closed. Oh wait, am I allowed to do that??.....

BTW - there are those that have both the Mac EDC and the Haiku XP-G. I spoke with one such owner (DimeRazorback) before I made my Haiku purchase. He said that the brightness difference between the two is indistinguishable. He tested multiple times to be sure. Keep in mind the Haiku runs at 650mAH on high. :twothumbs

i have an AW IMR 16340 waiting to be used in the Mac light. can't wait to try it tonight. times like this, i wish i didn't live in a city. ah well.

everyone talks about the wonder that is the mcgizmo light, but the fear of losing the light just makes me too uncomfortable to edc it. sigh. i think anything over $250 makes me worry. but then i don't want to shelf queen a light that's made to be used. but they are just so beautiful. ok now i'm ranting.

isn't the builder of mcgizmo in maui? i might be going in august for a little r&r. if i have a momentary lapse of strength, maybe i'll order one from him and pick it up in maui. one can dream.
