Just finished my first Ti cell body. As you can see it's a A123 body. Now I just need to make a tail cap and head and I'll have a complete light. :D This was a real time consumer. Boring the cell chamber took forever.

Really, I can't understand why you'd have any problems with Ti--it isn't that hard. :))

Usually only takes me a day or two.

Well, it seems like a day or two.

Nice clean look... good job!

Didn't you recently do a tail that was similar?

Thanks and yes I did. I actually did two that were almost identical. Both are however no longer in my possession so I will be making another. :) This one though will have not have a smaller OD at the bottom like the others. It will be like the standard Aleph except it will have the same grooves.

Are you using a small ball endmill for the slots? And if so are you doing this manually (hand crank)

If so :wow: That's even more impressive!

No I don't have a mill yet. Yes hand crank. I'm turning a radius bit on edge and using the carriage to cut the grooves. I index by using the gears.

Wow Mirage_Man that looks great!
The Alephs are so nice it's great to have the form factor in that yummy metal.
Well done.
What was the OD of the starting stock?
And how did you bore it (ie what kind of bar)?

It was 1" stock. I had to shave it down to about .990 to get all the mill marks off. I first drilled it out to about .480" then used a brazed on carbide boring bar the rest of the way. I plan to pick up a solid carbide indexable bar in the near future.

WOW, that looks good. You do a fantastic job with the anodising, and now you're doing the same with Ti':twothumbs

So, when are you going to put them together?:poke:;)

Colin.

If you can make me a body and a clickie for use in my Ti-PD-S,
I'd gladly give my money to you

Sorry for resurrecting the dead here, but WOW!!!:twothumbs:naughty:

Any chance on making a run of these in aluminum??? I'm a HUGE A123 fan!:candle:
