How do I Disassembled a Maha MH-C9000? I spilled some soda on my charger. Now my Slot button is stuck. Does it just snap a part or are there screws under the rubber feet?

Hi ynotfatboy,

There are, in fact, phillips screws under the rubber feet.

After they're out, there are a couple of things to be aware of. Firstly, the top and bottom sections need to remain parallel as you're pulling them apart. This allows the positive contact tangs to slide out of their slots without jamming. Secondly, you may need to deform the body of charger a bit to allow the 12 volt input jack to clear.

Perhaps someone with more experience can chime in on this, but I think you should be okay dipping and swishing all the contaminated parts of the charger itself in a sink containing a fairly large volume of lukewarm water and a couple of drops of dish washing liquid.

Once the parts are cleaned, and the majority of the water has drained away, I've had good success using a household vacuum to draw the remaining water out of all the little nooks and cranny's. If you hold the hose with your fingers extending past the opening, it will prevent the metal end from inadvertently coming in contact with the parts of the charger. You also, of course, want to make sure you keep a good grip on the parts so they don't get sucked into the vacuum.

I would then let the parts sit for a day or so to ensure any remaining water evaporates before assembling and testing.

Oh, you also want to be especially careful re-seating the gray and black zebra strip. If it's not, the display won't work correctly. If that happens, you will have to disassemble the charger and try seating it again.

It is really important to do a final rinse of any electronic circuit with deionized or distilled water when cleaning it. This ensures no residues are left behind when the water evaporates. Then make sure it is is really really dry before connecting power again. Do not allow any parts like LCD displays or back lights to get wet.
