I just bought a GoLight 2021 remote spotlight. I want to convert it to HID. I know that Magnalight sells these units in HID, but I would like to do it myself to save money and because it might be fun.
I'm running into a few problems in my task.
1st; I need a very small ballast because internal space is very limited.
2nd; The spotlight uses a Phillips H9 bulb with a 90 degree angle base (Plastic plug end) and I have not seen an HID bulb with this bend. This light requires a 90 degree base because there is very little clearance behind the bulb.
I called Magnalight to see if they would tell me what brand ballasts they use; no luck, they wouldnt tell me.
I know that I could use an extrernal ballast housing, but I would like to mount it internally.
Any ideas guys?
