I'm feeling a bit alone in here...

I guess I'm behind the times with the array of multi level digital lights that have flooded the market - but I remain impressed with my Pacific on AA and CR2 cells and it looks like my $$ with the Christmas sale will be going to Peak this fall - not sure what the next purchase will be, but I'm pretty sure it will be a Peak.

Anyone else still in the Peak camp with me? Maybe I'm just bored at work these days and thinking too much about lights... :candle:

I am with you!
The quality of construction is what I use for EDC lights. Nothing like the feel of stainless steel in your hand and knowing the thing will work when switched on.

+1

I love Peaks as well, especially the CR123 models and the Pacific.

But, there are some things I thoroughly dislike:
- I would like the Matterhorn and Kilimanjaro better with good regulation.
- The horrible spring loaded contact: :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead turnturnturnturnturnturn ON! turnturnturnturnturnturnturn OFF! (ARC = turn ON! turn OFF!) Peak is really awful here... It's why I stopped using my Baltic, as it isn't available in "lug"-style, without the spring.
- the CR123 lights might be better served with a tailswitch/clicky (à la Surefire) instead of their current system.

But, in general, they pretty much stand (nearly) alone when it comes to quality and useful options. Who else makes colored led lights in so many configurations.
After handling Peaks, a lot of other lights feel (and are) cheap.

Peak = good :thumbsup:
Thanks, Peak :)

Kind regards,
Joris

I visit here whenever I see a new post. I have quite a few Peak lights, but there is not much to post that hasn't been posted. I am wishing Peak would go with at least a two stage light. I heard they are working on modifying the momentary switch they currently have to two levels. Here's hoping!:thumbsup:

I like the not-so-flat regulation of the Matterhorn since it means you can use it for ridiculously many hours with gently decreasing brightness. I'd like flatter regulation in the Pacific but as mentioned elsewhere, it may be miscalibration of my particular unit. Most of all I'd like Peak's website to actually follow standards instead of depending on Flash. They have a sale going on and I can't order any lights because I use a non-flash browser.
