Is there a good bright bulb (500 lumens or more) that will work with 4v and 1 IMR battery? Specificly I'm looking for a G4 2 pin bulb to fit in FiveMega G4 Sunlight D26 module.

I have only seen a lamp for 1 li-ion cell rated at 250 lumens, that pulled 5A or there abouts...so too much current for an IMR 123.

Would be nice...but I dont think it can be done...I think for the low V of the lamp that much current gets the lamp to hot, and the lamp would turn black internaly quickly.

I think in this range LED's have the Incans beat...I think what you want is a SST-50 dropin for that type of output........Although I would also love this type of incan setup as prefer them over the LED i have experienced, and damn runtime, I dont think its possible ( I'm no expert BTW...but I think I went chasing this kinda idea a while back, and it was a no go.

Don't think so. Check marketplace b/s/t for Litho123's bi-pin bulbs? but IIRC the lowest rating was a m@g upgrade for 4.8vrated and only ~300lumens below 5v. (And you're ideally looking for ~3.6v rated bulb as you'll need decent overdrive to close on 500 lumens I suspect).
Incan requires voltage, stipulating low voltage means less lumens.
I think M wrote hotwire fun begins at 9v.

The LF EO-4 is the most I have seen. And I can vouch that on a big IMR cell, driving it nice and hard, it's satisfyingly bright.

I almost bought one of those Sunlight units till I realized I could not really find a good bulb for it, for exactly what you are asking.

The Sunlight modual is designed so people can use their favorite WA bulbs to build miniature "Mag" 85s and 11s, etc.

Best stick with an LF EO-4.

I invested that particular upgrade budget into an AW Incan Driver for my D26 based EDC instead.

It is definitely possible to make such a bulb but not economical.
Years ago I had custom made 4 volt, 3.5 Amp axial G4 bi pin bulb to work in 4AA M*g 1D which was maximum draw for most consumer NiMH AAs at the time.
It is possible to go higher Amp but problem will be the switch and current delivery.
In this kind of application, center spring can not deliver say 10 Amps and will collapse. Beside, which switch can take this kind of current?
In rechargeable flashlights like Strion, first you need to have larger IMR cell to provide such a high current draw with reasonable run time, then a big and heavy charger capable of high current charging which will make the product too expensive and less practical.

Some time ago Carley made batch of custom 2.4 volt, 9 Amp bulb for a customer and that was it. Never happened again.
So, it is possible.

I was thinking one of your 1x26650 bodies with a softstart from AW in the tail. Run time isn't such a big deal, if I can get 30 minutes I'll be happy. I'm starting to think that at those voltages a LED is a better fit, especially a SST-90.
