Folks,

I am a newbie that has learned a lot reading this forum. Thank You all. I simply got tired with dime store flashlights and currently own a Surefire G2L and a Fenix P1D that hangs on my belt. I'm just a home owner (no occupational needs) and do a couple motorcycle tours a year that requires a good torch. Also own a Petzl headlamp because it just makes sense.

The time has come for my 1st question. Batteryjunction is having a sale on the P1D for $34.96.

http://www.batteryjunction.com/fenix-ce-p1d.html

I purchased my P1D from fenixgear.com for about $20 more but the descriptions between the 2 sites state 135 lumens on the batteryjunction sit and 180 on the Fenixgear site.

They look identical and was wondering if Fenix had 2 versions at any time?

you have the newer better brighter version...the one on sale at batteryjunction is the older one with older led but still very good incase you wanna pick up an extra one cheap

Qip is correct, the one you have is the current LED bin model, the sale model is an older/dimmer bin. I own both, and while the older bin has a slightly warmer tint, it uses a smooth reflector which makes for a less attractive/more ringy beam.

The only P1D that's more coveted than your current model is the rare "Silver" anodized version (similar to the "Natural" anodizing but completely colorless and bright), which was a limited edition.

The P1D-CE that you have is the "premium" one with the Q5 bin of the Cree XR-E LED. The one Batteryjunction is selling at a lower price is the one with either the P4 or Q2 bin. Still a good light.

:welcome:
