Is it safe to charge a BatteryStation battery with a DSD charger?

I have a DSD charger that I have bought several months ago & now I want to get some good RCR123 batteries. I was thinking of getting the new AW 750 mAH RCR 123 but then I saw the higher capacity BatteryStation RCR 123 at 900 mAH.

Is it safe to charge the BS in the DSD charger? I contacted John at Lighthound & he said it would work but I want to know if anyone has ever done this?

Any input or experience is much appreciated. :) :) :) :)

When I am on the road I use the DSD charger for both my 18650s and the BS RCR123s, don't want to carry two different chargers. No problem in the past year or so.

Here I am to help you decide!

I have two MP 700mAH unprotected R123 clls, and six Battery Station 900mAH protected yellow jacket R123 cells. Instead of the DSD charger, I would highly recommend the Battery Station two cell unit. That is my only R123 cell charger. I like it, because it always ends the charge of each of the above cells at 4.176v. This voltage is easy on the cells for a long life. The way to use it is to place one or two cells in the bays, and charge for one more hour after the light turns from a solid red to a solid green. Can't get easier than that. Charging cells longer will not increase the end of charge voltage, no matter how long you let the cells "cook."

I bought a DSD charger and experienced erratic charging, usually on the high side....4.21v at end of charge. This is too high, and will reduce the lifespan of cells. I bought another DSD charger, and it did the same thing. Two weeks later, both ended the charging of every cell at roughly 4.04v. Now, that is TOO LOW! You can't recover 100% of a cell's capacity if you end the charge at 4.04v. I sent both chargers back for a refund.

Let me know what you decide.

Jeff

I use a DSD with my Battery Station RCR123's. Unfortunately my Battery Station batteries no longer hold thier charge for more than a couple of days. :( They just self discharge and are useless. The batteries from Lighthound still work fine though. I'm guessing the DSD charger is fine, but the Battery Stations batteries are crapping out. :(
