A friend of mine has the m3 for his duty light, he's looking for a drop in basket type holder for it similar to this.

The problem with the blackhawk one is it isn't big enough for the lense to be downward. He currently has it in a small basket with the lense up but that is a good way to get the lense messed up.

Any ideas?

I am a law enforcement officer with a M3. I bought a Blackhawk M3 holster similar to the Gladius model but it is too tight, so I didn't use it for the M3. If Blackhawk made it a bit wider at the mouth, it would be very good. Instead, I used the Blackhawk M6 full holster with fastex buckle closed lid. The entire light drops in and is totally secure during any acrobatics. It isn't fast to deploy, though.

You can also look at Surefire's hard plastic M3 holster that holds the M3 bezel down or up. I've read that it may scratch the bezel, if that matters.

If you can't find a factory option maybe see if a custom sheath maker that deals in cordura/nylon can help you out. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is semper paratus tactical, but I'm sure there are a few out there that will do custom orders.
