I made a circuit with a IRL1404 HEX-FET and a 2 Ohm 12A NTC.
When I switch it on, it take 5 seconds to light up the bulb.
The NTC heats up faster than the bulb.
Tested with a PC-Power supply, 12V 15A.

Is that normal? The bulb looks more then ~300 lumen instead of 3000 lumens.

you need to use a smaller NTC - the bigger they are the more they delay start up and swallow voltage, then again I could be wrong my experience is very limited

Thanks for the answer.

I noticed today, that the 2 weeks "old" 10s+1 2/3A 1400mAh Intellect pack for a Mag625 was dead. 0.7 Volt reading... instead ~13 volts. :mecry:

From this moment, I should stop wasting my time and money with Ni-Mh cells and changing to A123 or emolis cells.

2 weeks "old" ??? The Intellect 1400mAh cells are more like 2-3 years old.

Zelda,

with a 11 cell pak you would only need the NTC I linked above to slow start and drop voltage to about 12v.

I would try the NTC by itself.

Sounds like you have a tri-bore 2D? If have a 3D, 3x emoli 26700mah cells would fit and give 12.6vbat. My 64625 runs direct drive with 12.6vbat.

My host is a stock 3D "Nascar" maglite. The intellect cells have 14mm diameters and the tube is 28.2mm ==> 2 parallel.

Is the "voltage sag" little with 3 x emoli?

Zelda,

with 64625 and 3 x emoli 2670mah cells on fresh charge 12.6v no not much sag "voltage sag." I have a 3 cell emoli and swap 64625, 62138, 64610 50w bulbs in and runs great. 3 emoli will not flash any of these bulbs.

I'm back from the holidays, 20 degress less in switzerland... :sick2:

LuxLuthor: I'm in for 2 ntc's.

jimjones3630: What is the diameter from an emoli cell without insulation?
