After lots of searching I finally decided I need to have a Jetbeam Jet-III M with Q3 and today was the lucky day: I received it.
But I have to say I'm kind of disappointed by the flashlight and hope that mine is just broken or something and I can send it back and get a new one.

The problems:
- quite large donut hole in the middle of the spot (tried to take a photo but failed...)
- thin ring of light at the outermost part of the beam. At a distance it's like you have the beam itself which ends where it should, around it nearly no light at all, but then at the corner of the no-light-area this really bright ring (in the photo the flashlight is around 1m away from the wall: http://www.abload.de/img/ringhy7m.jpg)
- head of the flashlight gets really warm after just a small time on high mode
- on low mode you can hear a quite loud whistling noise from the head

maybe this is all normal but no other flashlight I have has this problems so I'd like to have a confirmation

thanks

1. donut hole in beam within 30cm from the wall is normal, otherwise no

2. ring of light outside spill is normal, as long as "most" (~99%) of the light is in the hotspot and spill.

3. On high mode mean it VERY bright, and it's 110% normal when heat is generated as a result.

4. inductor whining is kind of like a lottery in many digitally regulated lights.

Things happen, especially when one experience new things. I suspect you're new to high powered LED lights?

:welcome:

And the Jet-III M 'broke'? What happened?

yeah you're right, I'm quite new to these kind of lights.

So it seems that everything except the donut hole is normal, because you can see it at every distance.
If it even is a real donut hole... it more looks like a very yellow little spot.
I tried again taking a photo, it's not very good but I think you can see what I mean. In real life it's much more visible. (light ~5m away from the wall): http://www.abload.de/img/1jrsr.jpg

maybe "broken" was the wrong word, I only thought it might have a defect or something because of the bit annoying things I mentioned.
