I have an excellent condition JetBeam MKII type X that works fine with AA or 14500 but if I install a 123 adapter it won't power on. I found somewhere that one needs to twist it quickly to activate the modes but I can't seem to do that to any effect. I also installed a small magnet on the bottom of the battery (just an Ener*ier Lithium Photo 3.0v) as I also read that can help. I checked with my volt meter to make sure with the battery that it was still passing 3.0volts. Is there a trick to this? Does the tube not work with the X type? Do I need to have the light in a mode when I turn it off first? I know the cell is touching the spring in the head...I'm just wondering what the issue is if anyone has any tips, thanks!
