Just got an Lx2 and wow! but...

So I finally brought myself to get an Lx2. I frackin love this light!! Its sweet, its new and minty fresh and I got it for $115 shipped so i figured I shouldnt pass it up..
anyways I love everything about it. Except, the plastic lanyard ring is loose. Is it supposed to be like this?? It spins around if you turn the flashlight. The lanyard ring on my L1 doesnt do this at all, its very snug and takes a bit of force to spin it around the light (which I like and feel is normal). the Lx2's ring is loose and feels a bit cheap and is annoying everytime you move the light in your hand the lanyard ring spins and the heavy side "rolls" to the bottom of the light. Is this normal or should I somehow replace it? Also I cant even get the ring apart w/o feeling like I'm about to break it. Is there a certain technique to remove the ring?

The ring on my LX2 also spun around. The one on my A2 didn't.

Since I don't use lanyards I took both of the off by sticking a screwdriver through the hole and I just pulled. The LX2 ring survived, the A2 ring broke.

It might be a bit easier on the ring if you take a small flathead screwdriver and try to pry them apart at the seam.

The newer lanyard pivots are looser for some reason. Perhaps to break away easier when need be.

To pull one apart:
1. Hold the side with the lanyards hole still between your left thumb and index finger (so that it doesn't spin).
2. With your right thumb push the other half "into" the tailcap from the side near the split, as if you were trying to push it through the tailcap.
3. On the opposite side, it should be raised a little. Use your right middle fingers nail to pull it away from the other half. It should fall apart rather easy then!
