Just got a new Eagle Tac p20c2 Mark II from Lighthound today. I am happy with it's size and light output but would like more throw. The reflector is not smooth (slightly op).
Is there any modification I can make to this light for more throw or do I need to look for another light?
If you suggest a different light, I would want one that would use the same battery (17670) and be similar in size as it will be an edc light.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

As far as I know, you should be able to get a smooth reflector for it. Check out Illumination Gear's site, they have a lot of info on it. Eagletac's site too.

You can't change the reflector in the MKII, but you can get a neutral white drop in for it which is an xp-e. That should give it a little bit narrower beam. Although the overall output will be somewhat dimmer.

I find that the P20C2 MKII doesn't throw a pinpoint beam, but it does however toss a lot of lumens down field. More than enough for anything I use it for at least. If I need more throw, I just use my B&D 4C LED spotlight.

Sadly, as mentioned, there isn't much you can do. Sounds like what would've better suited your needs is a T20C2. It has more throw with the XP-G than the P20C2 and if you get the optional XR-E module, it has even MORE throw. It's a bit larger, but not significantly so IMO. Maybe you can send your P20C2 back in for a T20C2.

The P20C2 Mk II is my fav light I own of the 20 + lights I have. I find it a great combination of throw and flood. When shining it at a distance - the hotspot melts away into an almost evenly distributed light cone. It's really cool - and none of my other lights does it the same way as the P20.

However, if ya want more throw - you should have ordered the T20C2 Mk II. It's got a little less flood but throws further. Sorry, but ya can't have it all - at least not without going to a larger sized light (like the M2XC4 - which floods a lot and throws pretty damn far)

Yeah, it looks like for more throw I will need a larger light. If I go with a single 18650 light what are a few choices for the best thrower? I have a Streamlight Stinger DS LED HP which is a good thower. ( I think?) I dont have any other "quality" lights to compare it to. Looks like I'm gonna be adding another one though! Also, the Streamlight seem to have a much "whiter" light than the Eagle Tac. Why?

The original P20C2 that used an XR-E had significantly more throw than the MkII, but less overall output and the UI wasn't as "refined". Having said that, I LOVE my P20C2 MkII! While it doesn't throw "a ton", I find it has the most useful beam of any light I've EVER owned (...and I've owned well over 300 since becoming a CPFer back in '02!)...a VERY smooth cone of light that smoothly blends into the outer spill light, lighting up EVERYTHING in front of you very nicely out to about 250 feet (...can ya tell that I REALLY like this light!?)

But like the OP said, if it's a bonafide thrower that you want, the P20C2 MkII isn't it. For that matter, the T20C2 MkII doesn't throw THAT much further than the P20C2 MkII with the XP-G R5 module; but with the optional XR-E module, like has already been stated, it will throw considerably further, albeit at the cost of overall output.
