On a rock :P
I was very excited when I got it. Opened the box and hoped for everything to be perfect as said by the ebay seller. The condition looked excellent. Till I looked very closely and just saw a small scratch on the tip of the bezel, which probably came from factory like that. After that came another small problem. I put in the mn21 bulb to test out its power. I had problems with it. It would turn off automatically. I thought, oh boy...I knew I shouldn't have bought it off of ebay. But I went back upstairs to check it out and just noticed that the spring that connects to the battery wasn't completely on the holder. So I just fixed that and wala. It worked perfect. I gotta say, I thought the light would've been a little more impressive for the price and the hot spot isn't so perfectly round as I thought it should be but hey, I probably just gotta give it some time and get used to it. I do very much like the light and plan on keeping it though (it is a surefire flashlight :p ) I wanted to thank all the CPF'ers for helping me make my decision on getting the M6. lovecpf

Btw, is the M6 guardians supposed to come with shock-isolation? I saw a youtube video of a guy playing with the shock-isolation system so I wanted to give it a try but it wouldn't move. It was very stiff so I didn't want to play with it and break anything and just left it alone, hoping I never got ripped off.

Congrats on the SF M6

You can now start buying all those bulb holders, tower modules, cell carriers
Ti bezels, Mega bodies etc etc etc and play M6 Lego

I got mine a few months ago from a feelow CPF'er, and have been running the MN15 since reading js's X-LOLA thread...now I have cover and a spare MB20, and this is my "go to light" if the stink hit's the fan...

the MB20 has been bothering me...Its very difficult to have a spare around when what you have in your bag is mostly metal and the base of the holder basically consists of two contacts. Its just asking for trouble sitting out in broad daylight

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure how I'm gonna pack it outside of my pelican...I've been looking at some odd cases at thrift stores, etc., hoping I'll find a decent case for it so I can pack it on foot...right now it travels in my vehicle in a pelican...

W/O hijacking the thread, since the op might find this useful as well, any body know of any good MB20 holders off hand???

Congrats on your new M6! It is an awesome light for sure. The M6 bezel should definitely have shock isolation. When you have the bezel removed from the body, if your press in on the hole where the lamp goes, you will feel it move forward.

I just got mine as well.. it's not a good light for cruising around the house at night with.. but outside where it counts it really performs well.

i used mine as a headlight for my car last weekend after leaving the drag strip, it was brighter than both my dim old headlights. :D

Congrats on the new SF M6, mine is on the way :D i have wanted it for long time and just now i have done it. I guess today is more appealing then before, with all the options for it. Enjoy

I found a simple solution for carrying extra MB-20's Thankfully I find lot's of usefull stuff at work that would normally get thrown away:naughty:

The carrier rattles around a little but, a thin piece of foam would snug it up. The cardboard tube is much thicker than a papertowel roll, and the plastic caps insulate the contacts. The tube and one cap is used to protect the probe on a level sensor we use. I just had to cut the tube to length and get a second cap from another sensor to make it work. Of course I had to print a label for it too.

Back to the OP...
I've found most SureFire's to be very usefull. There are so many extra part's others have made to make these great light's even betterlovecpf The M6 is my go to incan light. I keep a LumensFactory HO-M3T bulb in one for a long runtime/lower output light:duck:...it's still pretty bright. It's their version of the MN-15 bulb. The beam seems to have a rounder hotspot than when I use a MN-15. I still have three N2 bulb's which also work great.

BTW I'm not bashing the MN-15, Junmae mentioned he thought the hotspot wasn't as round as he was hoping. At first the oblong hotspot's on the smaller envelope bulb's bothered me, but I've found it to be very usefull when held properly. With two eye's we see more left to right than we see top to bottom. The oval shape actually works better for our biology.

The AW softstart switch might be the best bang for your buck extras for the M6. Three levels and the softstart feature make this light much more usefull with the higher power bulbs. If you're not familliar with all of your options for the M6, there are a lot of threads that will make you smile, and drain your wallet:devil:

I think you made the right decision on the M6. Have fun:party:

I just place them in the small Glad freezer bags. This keeps them free from dust and other particulates while giving reasonable short protection. It's cheap and easy.

The MN15 configuration is an extremely efficient, very usable incan setup (200+ very white, throwy lumens from the SF TH, with 2.5 hours of runtime) while placing minimal loads on each of the six CR123's, resulting in the highest-possible watt-hours being delivered from each cell. Here's js's thread if you're interested:

Also, DM51's rechargeable guide is a must-read on the off-chance you haven't read it yet:

Enjoy your M6,
K

Congrats! This seems like a good chance to post one of the few photos of my M6.

If you play with the M6 indoors, it's not that impressive. Luckily I took delivery of mine at night and immediately used it to light up trees, power lines, and neighbors' houses all down the street. The more you use it outside at night, the more impressed you will be.

With all of the rechargeable options and different bulbs available for the M6, it is one of the most versatile lights available IMHO.
