KX2 with a E2D Led

I've been pondering getting the E2 Outdoorsman. Then I noticed the other night the KX2 which has the same specs as the E2 O-man. Would the KX2 work with the defender and give me the two-stage light output. If I remember straight, the circuitry is in the head of the E-series anyhow, so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Has anyone tried doing this?

Yes. I've tried doing that and it works just fine. Like you said, the two-stage circuitry is in the head. All the E series parts (heads and tailcaps) are interchangable. In particular, I've put the KX2 head on my E2DL defender. That's the beauty of the E series.:twothumbs

Far out, now I have to find a place that sells them in black HA. Maybe someone local.
