Besides the 5 lumen difference between the two, what are some other differences? Which has better beam? tint? durability? efficiency?

Thank you!

The Rebel might have a warmer tint overall and better color rendering. the Q5 will be brighter. The Rebel 100 has better efficiency due to it's lower Vf.

If rebel is more efficient then how does the Q5 achieve 5 more lumen's with the same runtime? Also do you have any pictures of the Rebel and Q5 beams?

The Q5 has more light because it uses more power then the Rebel(due to the higher Vf). Efficiency is only a tiny bit less with the Q5 and runtime should be a bit longer with the Rebel.

Check this review for beam shots. It is a P3D comparison but the only difference is the extra brightness. Beam pattern is the same.

In your opinion what would be more useful, the extra 5 lumens or the better color rendering?

Color(IMO). Your eyes would not even notice a difference that minute.

EDIT : You could also purchase the L1D body to make a RB100 1AA. From what I have read the Rebel will work better than the Q5 in a 1AA body due to the lower Vf. Then you have 2AA throw monster, or 1AA easy EDC. Just depends on whats going down!

I keep making comments about this L2D/L1D "fenix lego". I must want them...

or do like i did, buy two and keep the one you like the best.
that way, you also get to play the tint lottery.

Would the lower Vf make the rb100 a beter head for the L1d body or is this all masked by the regulation circuit, so all the user would see is slightly longer runtimes due to greater efficiency?

Sounds like it.

Selfbuilt did a AA shootout in the reviews section here. One of the lights he used was a L1D body with the L2D RB100 head (Fenix currently only has a RB80 with the L1D). The Fenix L2D RB100 + L1D body purchase sounds like a real good deal.

With a higher Vf the Q5 would not have great runtime and it might beat up your battery.
