I'm looking forward to the day I can swap out my IPF e-codes for some energy efficient leds. With all the amperage I'm pulling in Jeep (and yes, it'd probably be fine with stock lighting but I wouldnt be here if that was acceptable) I have a lot of trouble generating the power I need at rockcrawling speeds.

I don't doubt that is where all the work is being done.

But, if the automakers want something to replace incandescent filament bulbs, they will need a white point of about 3500K (basically the coolest warm whites, or warmest neutral whites)

Better efficiency-of course, better visual acuity-doubtful.
