Hi All,

I am super duper new to LED torches...

Just need some advice here. I looked through the forum and there is little mention of torches with good light flood. I am actually looking for something that can light up a large area rather than a good throw.

Can someone recommend something here?

Well that depends how much you are willing to spend on a flashlight ;)

Surefire L4 100 lumens 2 123A batteries for a really floody beam forward clickie - USD 165/-
Amilite T5 single 123A reverse or rechargeable clikie two stage 15/30-140 lumens - USD 80/-
Novatac 120P programmeable flashlight single 123A or rechargeable USD 150/-
Surefire U2 forward clickie 2x 123A or 18650 rechargeable batterries 100 lumens - USD 280/-

There are many more out there but these are the one's I have and by far the L4 is the floodiest but heat is an issue.

Hope it helps:p

:welcome: Waxxy.

If money is no objection there are a few flashlights that have this characteristic. The one that I know and have is WiseLED Tactical 1000 lumens and 1500 lumens. The others that really interesting is Solus SH-500 and 1250.

Wow, thanks for the quick advices. :faint:

Need some time to digest all the info. Some of these stuff costs an arm and a leg man... :mecry:

yes, but if you measure by lumens out put, actually it is cheaper. Example if the flashlight have 100 lumens cost $200 cost more perlumen and you buy WiseLED Tatical which produce 1500 lumens cost $500, that means cost less. May be I just look at it in different way.

my 5 watt 2 CR123 light from Amondotech floods like nothing I've seen!.
it lights up an entire room pure flood! for less then $75
on a smaller scale the ORB RAW WEE floods beautifully!

Well, the cheapest option would to buy a cheap light and remove the reflector. You will get a cheap version of the mule. No hotspot and all spill but light will be lost within the head.

Or even simpler, use scotch tape or some kind of diffuser.

For a stock floody light, all of the above options are good.

:welcome:
