Following on from Budmans skilled trit installation, I got my new tailcap and as it has a lovely clip, decided to use the lanyard holes for something else.

I bought four 2mm x 6mm Max trits from a fishing shop, they're packed with goodness at fairly high pressure. I wanted blue but chose green as they're much brighter and my mod only exposes the ends.

As the holes are 2.5mm I had to modify some brass tubing for sleeves, but it came out well and glows bright with 8 green dots. Can't do a darkness pic on my phone, I tried and they don't come out very well.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Rich that actually looks pretty good, where did you get the brass tubing from?

Also I can see away to get twelve points of light if you drilled a hole through the front edge of the tail cap.

Good stuff, would lov eto do that to some of my lights but we don't have trits in my country (not that i know of). :(

waiting for the tailcap with built in trits for the lf2xt.

Don't start me, it's not a Chrismas tree!. It's possible of course, but the brass sleeves are one piece and cutting them into two, ie, one each end of the trit would be fiddly, the wall of metal is very thin.

The tubing is available from modelling shops. I used 3mm with a 2mm int.diameter and spun it in the chuck with a file on it to thin it to fit. I've got some spare if you want it.

That is awesome! Nice Job. These lights are so good, they deserve every tender loving addition someone comes up with. Thanks for sharing. :candle:

Nice job, I like it !

Would have been nice to have drilled 4 holes on the top of the lanyard holes to expose the tritium to the top of the light as well.

I'm thinking about a push button trit now ..

Push button would be the ideal place for one I think, mine is slightly over-pimped, and quite expensive. I was really trying to avoid drilling or milling the tailcap. A hole in each at the top would look good as the metal here is thin so the trit is close to the surface. Another idea was to remove all the metal at the top to leave a long groove for the trit to lie in, but it all seemed a bit complicated, packing epoxy in etc.

Looking down at the top of the light you can see all eight dots easily as slits of light and there's no angle when you cant see four.
