My Google-foo is weak today... help me out please :)
I am looking for a smallest possible charger with two individual channels for AA Eneloops.
The ideal charger for this situation (in order of importance)

  • No cords & as compact as possible
  • 2x Independent Channels (to charge 1 or 2 dissimilarly charged Eneloops)
  • Separate LED/LCD charge state indicator for each channel
  • Would be nice if it is a quick charger
  • 110 / 220V (mostly US based usage)

The following size is close to ideal.

Thanks!

I`m trying to find a DUO, this looks like it might be the right one but it doesn`t seem to include the mains supply. Are there 2 versions, one with and one without the mains adaptor?

The plug is not visible on the front of the package. To my knowledge there is only one version unless there is a UK version with a different plug.

I emailed the seller and it doesn`t come with the mains plug :(

So it seems there are two version, one with and one wthout a mains plug.

Thanks fireguy but I`m after the DUO because it`s proven and can be used on the mains.

I suppose if the DUO can`t be had outside the US I could get the USB only version and an appropriate USB Mains Adapter, the total cost begins to creep up then though :/

The one pictured really is a DUO charger. Is it possible perhaps that they sell it without the mains adapter in the UK? That really would be a bummer :(

However, the mains adapter for the DUO is a simple USB 5 V power supply with a USB plug to plug into the charger. So if you could find a 5 V USB power supply from somewhere else you could still use the DUO with that.

[Edit: OK, I went here http://www.usbcharger.eu/ and it looks like they really don't include the mains adapter in Europe. Bad Energizer! I guess they didn't like the idea of making different kinds of wall wart for all the different mains plugs found across Europe.

Also, I think it must be called the DUO in North America because it has dual power supply options, mains or USB. In Europe they just call it the USB charger because it only has the one power option.]

Sony BC-CS2A. Small and no wall wart. Long cord though. Maybe not small enough.

Opps, I see you don't want a cord.

Mr Happy, My thoughts exactly. The adaptor I linked seems capable of doing the job?
Output: DC5.0V ± 5%. 500mA ± 50mA

odessit, sorry for hijacking your thread slightly. I beleive those two codes refer to the same model, the latter is just the full code.

No problem! Guess this isn't any help, but just mentioning it FWIW. I have an SCH-600F from ebay - small, 4 cell charger with LCD for each, came with USB cable for computer plus 110 plug and 12V cig. lighter plug. Tiny wall adapter and travels well. I've been happy with mine.

fireguy, thanks for the model number, it led me to this little gem...

I'm sure you have already sorted yourself a charger or two out by now but thought I'd add this to the thread incase it's of interest to other people:

I find it to be a very good charger and have bought 5 of them from the linked site and given them to friends and family. I have two Maha C9000's that I use at home but wouldn't think twice about using this charger instead. It has 4 individual channels but unfortunately only 1 LED indicator, which is the only thing I can fault this charger on. There is an animation on that linked site that shows how it closes up to become very small for transportation. It comes with a USA foldout plug built in and also with the clip on UK and European plugs. When these are clipped on they are very sturdy.
