Hello, this is my first post. I already have a thrower (Fenix TK20), and am looking now for a floodlight for use around the house, camping, nightlight, etc. Since my wife would also be using it, I have some concerns.

This would be my ideal flashlight:
Four settings: 0.1, 3, 15, 50 (all plus or minus 20%)
Powered by AA battery, preferably single
Absolutely NO strobe (debilitating for my wife)
Easy UI
Waterproof
Clip, lanyard, etc.

At this point, it looks like my best option is the Zebralight H50-Q5; however, I would rather have the H501 except it doesn't have the 120-deg. flood. None of the Z-lites have a moonlight mode, either. Heck, if they even had a 1, 10, 50 option, that would be much better for me than what they have now.

I like the Quarks and Ra lights, but they have Strobe modes and I don't believe they offer a flood beam. Are there any other possibilities out there that I might have missed, that come close to the requirements above?

I feel like the zebralight is probably your best option.

I just went through this decision process...and ended up ordering a zebralight.

Similar requirements, plus I wanted it to be regulated, take a single lithium AA or CR123, and ideally have a neutral/warm tint LED. Zebralight was the only contender. Though I was mostly looking at headlamps or hat-clippable lights. Floodlight usually means hands-free for me.

Only problem I saw with the zebralight was some discussion about the driver not doing well with high voltage (14500s) or low voltage (depleted alkalines). But I only plan to use lithium primaries and nimh secondaries.

Moonlight mode...I think 2-3 lumens is about right for a flood, even an 80-degree flood. Remember, those lumens are really spread out compared to your thrower.

Hope this helps... :)

Thanks to both of you for your help. Looks like Zebralight it is, for now. I imagine I will be adding other lights to the collection down the road.
