I'm going to have my 3D Mag modded (still looking for someone to do the work ), and I'm looking for ideas and/or solutions. First of all, I want to run 4 AW IMR "C" cells in this configuration, I think they will fit well with a small tail cap spring modification. I was thinking of using one of those 3x MC-E kits that are available in the custom marketplace. I'm also thinking about using 3x neutral white K binned 5B(or A) tint MC-E emitters (my favorite tints so far). Asside from this info, I have no other ideas.

Long story short, this is my large size "dream light". Does anybody know if this is doable (or would be willing to do this build for me for some cash money)? Thanks for the input that I'm sure I will inevitably receive as usual guys. Hopefully this is easier to pull off than I'm thinking it will be.
Chris.

PS: I'm also thinking about running an SST-90 as hard as it will go off of those 4 IMR "C" cells, any ideas?

For a SST-90 off of 4 IMR cells you need a buck driver. There is nothing out right now but there are a couple in development right now. Price is around $50 for the driver.

I would wire the 3xP7 in series. 4xIMR26500 should give you a Vbatt comfortably in the full regulation range when using a hipCC.

Combine it with der Wichtel's 3xP7 heat sink and reflectors, and other associated bits and pieces (e.g., borofloat glass window).

Thanks for the idea Justin, I have some idea of what you are talking about, but no competence in any of those skills (soldering or wiring). I may use your post as a template, thank you again.

I will second the 3xP7 light with DW sink and reflectors. I have built several of these and they are awesome. To keep it simple and cheap there are a few ways to go. Taskled drivers are about the best you can get so dont feel bad about using one.

I think I can do a 3D triple P7 for about $250 total including batteries. Give or take a little.

I have entertained ideas of a triple sst-50 with an amc sandwich pushing them to over 4a but I have not had a chance to get in the "lab" and experiment so to speak. It would beat the P7 light easy.
